Naturally, pet owners need to make some preparations for their pets to come and stay here at our animal vet clinic. Since most of our boarders also receive their regular veterinary care here at our animal hospital, some of these preparations will be easy, but be sure to read through the requirements, just to be sure. Our goal is to provide the safest, cleanest, most enjoyable pet boarding experience possible for all of our guests here at the emergency pet hospital.

First, to ensure the health and safety of all of our guests at the veterinary hospital, we need all dogs and cats to be up-to-date with their vaccinations. For dog boarding, we require pet owners to provide the dates of the last rabies and distemper shots, as well as proof of a Bordetella (Kennel Cough) shot within the last six months. Cat boarding customers also need proof of up-to-date vaccinations. As long as pets have kept their regularly-scheduled veterinary care appointments with our animal hospital, all the necessary paperwork will be in our system.

In addition to vaccines, pets boarding at our animal vet clinic need to be free of fleas, ticks, and parasites. As long as owners have continued a regular course of flea and tick medication, pets should be ready to stay with us here at Oakland Park Animal Hospital.

Our veterinary hospital boarding facilities are clean and comfortable, and pets usually have a lot of fun staying with us. Owners can bring their pets’ special food with feeding instructions for us to follow, and we also provide playtime and treats. Our skilled animal vet clinic staff members are also ready to administer any necessary medications. Owners can also bring a special favorite toy to help ease the transition into being away from home. And just in case there are any unexpected problems while families are away, we provide peace of mind because pets are housed right here on site with our emergency pet hospital.
